President's Day Tourney Recap

The Crawdads ran into some tough competition in the CFSA President’s Day Tournament over the weekend. Amazingly, the weather cleared out and Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day. The Crawdads finished 1-3 and took 8th place. The boys showed some pop at the plate at times over the weekend with some big hits including Grant's 2 run blast against the Banditos.

Saturday’s Results
The first draw on Saturday was against the powerhouse and eventual tourney winner, The Banditos Black. The Banditos defeated the Crawdads 18-5 in pool play. Then in the second game of pool play, the Barracudas bested the Crawdads in the second game 12-4.

Sunday’s Results
Sunday elimination games began for the 10th seeded Crawdads vs the 7th seeded Humble Bulldogs. The sun came out and so did the Crawdads’ bats and defense as the boys held the Bulldogs scoreless 13-0.

The Crawdads then moved on to face the 2nd seeded Houston Wranglers. The first two innings were close. Then, the Wranglers pulled out in front with a big 3rd inning. The Crawdads had a potential big inning end with bases loaded and a hard shot down the left field line by Chris being hauled in by the left fielder. The Wranglers proved to be too tough today and came out on top 11-3.

The tourney was hopefully a good primer for the CFSA regular season which kicks off Wednesday, Feb 20th at 6pm vs The Houston Angels.
